CORUNNA COMMUNITY POLICING COMMITTEE

LOCK IT or LOSE IT

In the late spring of 2008 the Corunna Community Policing Committee undertook a campaign to make area citizens more aware of the need to

"LOCK IT or LOSE IT"

particularly when it comes to protecting items in their vehicles. Coloured laminated signs such as the one below

were distributed to area businesses to publicize this awareness. Many businesses posted these signs in their windows to remind people to

LOCK IT or LOSE IT

After doing a survey to see if there was any interest in installing metal signs in the community the Corunna Community Policing Committee purchased a number of coloured metal signs measuring 12 inches wide and 18 inches high. The committee was reimbursed for these signs by interested parties who then purchased them from the CCpC. Some of these were St. Clair Township, Simon & Sherrol's No Frills Grocery Store, The Brigden Fair Board, and Bluewater foodland for the cost of the signs. The signs were then erected by these parties to remind citizens to

LOCK IT or LOSE IT.

See below for examples:

Four signs such as this were posted in the No Frills parking lot.

It looks like this will be an ongoing campign
to remind people to

LOCK IT or LOSE IT

as many have not yet gotten the message.
